Postdoctoral Fellow and Clinical Scientist, Linkoping University Hospital, Sweden

Center for Medical Image Science and Visualization, Linköping University, Sweden

The PhD research of Sohaib A. Qazi was focused on in-depth study of advanced Compressed Sensing reconstruction algorithms. The research involved solving inverse problems for image reconstruction. The major focus of his research was to optimize the existing image reconstruction algorithms to reduce the reconstruction time while maintaining image quality in terms of Signal-to-Noise Ratio and Artefact Power. In this research work different hardware limitations were also considered, and advantage of parallel computing platforms is exploited by implementing MR reconstruction algorithms on Graphical Processing Units (GPU) and Application Specific Integrated Circuits (ASICs).
